Les National Book Awards 2024 ont révélé le 1^er octobre les finalistes dans chacune de leurs cinq catégories : fiction, non-fiction, poésie, littérature traduite et littérature jeunesse.

La National Book Foundation est à l'origine de ces distinctions par lesquelle elle souhaite développer l’appréciation culturelle de la littérature aux États-Unis. Les lauréats seront annoncés le 20 novembre prochain.

Ils succèderont aux primés 2023 : Blackouts de Justin Torres pour la fiction (Farrar, Straus and Giroux/Macmillan Publishers), The Rediscovery of America : Native People and the Unmaking of U.S. History de Ned BlackHawk pour la non-fiction (Yale University Press), A First Time for Everything de Dan Stantat pour la jeunesse (First Second/Macmillan Publishers), The Words That Remain de Stênio Gardel, traduit par Bruna Dantas Lobato, pour la traduction (New Vessel Press) et From unincorporated territory (åmot) de Craig Santos Perez pour la poésie (Omnidawn Publishing).
