Le jury des National Book Awards a dévoilé sa sélection de finalistes pour les catégories "Fiction", "Non-Fiction", "Jeunesse", "Poésie" ainsi que la récente catégorie "Traduction" créée cette année et dont le prix est décerné à la fois à l’auteur et au traducteur. Les lauréats des prestigieux prix littéraires américains seront connus le 14 novembre.

Parmi les cinq finalistes de la catégorie "Traduction" figure le premier roman de Négar Djavadi, Désorientale (Liana Levi, 2016), seule française en lice au côté de l’Italien Domenico Starnone, la Japonaise Yoko Tawada, la Polonaise Olga Tokarczuk et la Norvégienne Hanne Ørstavik.
 
Vendu à près de 100000 exemplaires en France, grand format et poche confondus, Désorientale avait remporté plusieurs prix dont l’Autre monde, le prix du Style ou encore le prix Première.
