Les sélections des National Book Awards 2018

La National Book Foundation a annoncé, tout au long de la semaine, ses sélections fiction, non-fiction, jeunesse et poésie. Son nouveau prix consacré aux ouvrages traduits en anglais met à l’honneur Négar Djavadi, seule Française de la liste.

Le jury américain des National Book Awards a dévoilé, tout au long de la semaine, ses sélections pour les catégories "Fiction", "Non-Fiction","Traduction", "Jeunesse" et "Poésie". La National Book Foundation annoncera sa deuxième sélection le 10 octobre. Les lauréats des prestigieux prix littéraires américains seront récompensés le 14 novembre, lors d’une grande soirée de gala.

Cette année, les National Book Awards a ouvert une nouvelle catégorie. Ils s’ouvrent aux ouvrages traduits en anglais, uniquement pour les œuvres de fiction et de non-fiction d'écrivains en vie et publiés aux Etats-Unis. Ce nouveau prix sera décerné à la fois à l’auteur et au traducteur.

Dix ouvrages composent la sélection de la catégorie "Traduction" dont le premier roman de Négar Djavadi, Désorientale (Liana Levi, 2016), seule auteure française en lice. Vendu à près de 100000 exemplaires en France, grand format et poche confondus, Désorientale avait remporté plusieurs prix dont l’Autre monde, le prix du Style ou encore le prix Première
